The numbers by the time I reached Waikiki are as recorded in the Ocean Rowing Society database. ORS uses the great circle distance between start and finish positions. They will adjudicate the additional time and distance that I will have rowed to my point of landfall on mainland Asia then append those to my career totals.

The month of November provides an opportunity to talk about men’s health and I will bring up mental health specifically in some of my updates this month. I have a head start of 27 days of facial hair since Waikiki and I will not trim my moustache through the rest of November no matter how unruly it may get. I will post a selfie at the end of this month.

Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men's suicide. The Movember Foundation runs the Movember charity event, housed at us.movember.com.
Movember fundraisers are a global community of fired up Mo Bros and Mo Sisters – aka rock stars making a difference in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Your donation could help save a father, a brother, a son, a friend, a partner, a man’s life.
Mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer – they’re taking them all on.
Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.

HISTORY
2003
Two mates (Travis Garone and Luke Slattery) meet up for a quiet beer in Melbourne, Australia, and the idea that sparked Movember is born.
The moustache had all but disappeared from fashion trends. Could they bring it back? They found 30 guys willing to take up the challenge.
Participating countries: Australia, 30 Mo Bros, $0 raised
2020
To help address some of the long-term consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, Movember announces funding for 34 separate projects that will support the mental health and wellbeing of men and boys. A mass media behaviour change campaign aimed at encouraging millions of young men to talk about their mental health, was also successfully launched.
Despite the huge strides being made in prostate cancer research, it is not easy for doctors to predict which tumours will become aggressive. Movember announces continued funding for the development of the PUR (Prostate Urine Risk) test, which shows doctors which men are likely to need active treatment within the next five years.
Participating countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and USA
6,538,699 Mo Bros and Mo Sisters since 2003
Over 1,250 men’s health projects funded since 2003
-----
From humble beginnings in Australia in 2003, the Movember movement has grown to be a truly global one, inspiring support from over 6 million Mo Bros and Mo Sisters around the world.
Movember's success can largely be attributed to the strength of the global community. Regardless of the city in which we live, we're part of something bigger, united by a commitment to help change the face of men’s health.
